Dr Anna Pillich BVSc - Practice Owner and Vet

Anna graduated from Queensland University in 1994, she spent several years in a very mixed practice in Maryborough QLD which resulted in a great breadth of knowledge. Anna then spent some time doing research work (horse nutrition) until going back to locum (relief) work on the Central Coast.

It was whilst she was living in Kulnura that people started knocking on the door looking for a vet, and the rest is history. Anna has a special interest in dermatology and emergency medicine.

Anna still enjoys riding and competing with the horses, she is a member of the Rural Fire Service and helps out with training days and is also a very keen photographer.

Dr Malin Kompen BVSc - Part time Vet

Dr Malin Kompen is working with us 3 days a week. She is a new graduate from Sydney University and originally hails from a dairy farm in Norway.
Dr Kelly Davis BVSc

Introducing Dr Kelly Davis BVSc, who started at Kulnura Veterinary Clinic on Friday the 18th of March. A mixed practice vet, Kelly also has Diploma in Veterinary Acupuncture, and is currently a certified veterinary acupuncturist (accredited through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society). We have found acupuncture invaluable over the years with some of our patients and it will be great to have an in house acupuncturist!

Kelly graduated from the Sydney University in 2008, and subsequently spent her first years in a rural mixed animal practice in the lower hunter, where her passion for horses was very well fulfilled, and the RSPCA Hunter. The RSPCA shelter work gave her valuable experience working with a varied caseload of animals large and small.
Always keen to pursue travel, her next year was spent venturing through the colourful areas of SE Asia and South America, where she was able to use her veterinary skills to good use, working with many of the street dog sterilisation programs.
In 2012, having always had an interest in eastern medicine, she completed a Diploma of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Veterinary Acupuncture. The past few years have been spent working in emergency hospitals and being a locum (casual) vet for numerous clinics throughout the Newcastle and lower hunter areas Kelly is now keen to settle down and excited to become a member of the team at Kulnura.
Kelly has an enthusiastic passion for complicated medical cases, chronic conditions and the senior animal. She approaches cases with an open mind and a holistic outlook:
In her spare time, she enjoys trying to stay healthy by practicing yoga, running her highly energetic kelpie and drawing.
Welcome on board Kelly!!

Dr Diederik Gelderman BVSc

We are pleased to announce Dr Diederik Gelderman BVSc MVS’s association with Kulnura Veterinary Clinic. DG, as he is affectionately known, graduated from the University of Sydney with First Class Honours in 1977 and will commence consulting at KVC straight after Easter.

Diederik established Greenhills Veterinary Hospital in 1977 and transformed it from a struggling 1 man practice into a burgeoning regional Veterinary Hospital servicing the wider Hunter Valley. This business won many Australian Veterinary as well as non-Veterinary (customer service) awards from 1996 till 2005. Many of you may remember Diederik when he still serviced the Wollombi, Laguna and Muray run areas for all creatures great and small.
He began coaching veterinary professionals on management and business acumen in 2004. Rapidly, these events became key opportunities on the Australian Veterinary calendar and expanded internationally to Hong Kong, NZ, Europe and the US.

Diedrieck has worked with Kulnura Veterinary Clinic over the years to help make it the great practice it is today. His passion for hands-on clinical practice has him back working in practice doing clinical work. Diedrick is the Honorary veterinarian for for the Donkey Sanctuary, Donkey Welfare with heart in Maitland, still maintains a book of devoted horse clients in the lower Hunter and is a wizz orthopaedic surgeon and small animal vet.

We welcome Diederik to the Kulnura Vet Family. Whilst still having training commitments Diederik will be working Mondays and Tuesdays after Easter, doing both large and small animal work. He is at the clinic this Friday from 10 – 1. Pop in with your fur family to say Hi and have a chat.
Stay tuned tomorrow to meet other members of the team!
